Client Care

At Serene Skin NYC, your safety, comfort, and results are our top priorities. To ensure a smooth and effective experience, please review the following treatment policies, preparation requirements, and medical disclaimers. By booking an appointment, you acknowledge and agree to the terms outlined below.

FACIAL TREATMENTS

  • Intake forms must be completed prior to treatment. Please arrive 10–15 minutes early to complete or review your form. Failure to complete this in advance may result in delayed or shortened services.

  • Injectables: Wait at least 2 weeks after Botox and 4 weeks after dermal fillers before receiving treatment.

  • Pregnancy: If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, please consult your physician before booking any service, including DiamondGlow. By proceeding with your appointment, you acknowledge and accept all potential outcomes.

  • Discontinue the following at least 5 days prior to your treatment unless otherwise directed:

    • Retinoids (including tretinoin, retinol)

    • Prescription topicals (acne/lightening agents)

    • Manual or chemical exfoliants (scrubs, AHAs/BHAs)

  • We cannot treat clients with the following conditions: recent sunburns or tanning, open wounds, fresh surgical sites, active cold sores/herpes simplex virus, or any unhealed skin trauma. If present at time of service, treatment will be declined and full service fee will apply.

  • Clients who arrive unprepared or with contraindications will be rescheduled and charged the full service fee.

Note for DiamondGlow Clients:

  • DiamondGlow is a non-invasive treatment suitable for many skin types, but it is important to consult with your doctor prior to booking if you are pregnant or have any underlying health concerns.

  • Clients with thin, sensitive, or vascular-prone skin may experience temporary reactions such as redness, irritation, or visible capillaries (telangiectasia). These are known risks and are not grounds for refund or liability.

  • By booking a service at Serene Skin NYC, you consent to treatment and acknowledge all potential side effects discussed above.

LASER HAIR REMOVAL

  • Intake forms must be completed prior to treatment. Please arrive 10–15 minutes early to complete or review your form. Failure to do so may delay or shorten your appointment.

  • The area to be treated must be shaved 12–24 hours prior to your appointment. Do not wax, tweeze, or thread for at least 4 weeks before treatment.

  • Avoid sun exposure (including tanning beds and self-tanner) for 2 weeks before and after treatment.

  • Discontinue use of retinols, exfoliants, acids, and prescription topicals at least 7–10 days before your appointment unless otherwise advised.

  • Avoid excessive heat, sweating, saunas, steam rooms, or strenuous activity for 24 hours post-treatment.

  • Apply and reapply broad-spectrum SPF to treated areas post-treatment.

  • Wear loose, breathable clothing after body treatments to minimize irritation.

  • For facial areas: If you have a history of cold sores (HSV), consult your physician and begin antiviral medication24 hours prior to treatment.

IMPORTANT HEALTH NOTICE:

  • Laser hair removal cannot be performed on individuals who are pregnant.
If you are pregnant or suspect you may be, you must inform us prior to booking. Booking and arriving for a laser appointment while pregnant violates our safety protocols and will result in your service being declined and charged in full.

  • Clients who arrive with contraindications—including sunburn, unshaved skin, active breakouts, open wounds, or recent cosmetic procedures—will be turned away and charged the full-service fee.

TREATMENT EXPECTATIONS:

  • A minimum of 8 sessions, spaced 4–6 weeks apart, is recommended for best results.

  • Laser hair removal significantly reduces hair growth over time but is not guaranteed to be permanent.

  • Results may vary based on hormones, genetics, skin type, and treatment consistency.

  • By booking with Serene Skin NYC, you acknowledge and accept all pre- and post-care instructions, contraindications, and potential outcomes.
